Biography

His research has centered on the use of biomechanical modelling and machine learning principles to evaluate clinical conditions and inform the design of health technology. His research has included developing novel approaches to understand low back pain etiology, scoliosis brace design, and design of talus implants, which have been patented and are currently in use at the University of Alberta Hospital. Currently, He is using wearable sensors, modelling and algorithm to monitor human health (e.g. diabetic foot condition)  and evaluating footwear design in order to enhance running performance.
