A stadium for campus and community
UCalgary Stadium will be a vibrant hub for both the university and the wider community. Designed to support varsity competition and accessible recreation, the on-campus stadium complex will help meet Calgary’s growing need for sport infrastructure while creating a place to cheer on the Dinos.
UCalgary Stadium is designed to be flexible, welcoming and future ready. It will:
- Seat between 3,500 and 7,000 spectators
- Offer year-round access, supported by a seasonal dome
- Enable consistent training access for student-athletes
- Deliver a first-class university game-day experience, with outstanding amenities
- Address a critical sport-facility shortage in Calgary
- Provide a spectacular venue to host regional and national events
- Create a dynamic event hub near the growing University District
- Support future growth through scalable infrastructure
Home of the Dinos
The UCalgary Dinos have been champions on and off the field for 60 years. As we look to the future, we aim to build a home fit for varsity field sports, supporting athlete development, competition and community pride for decades to come.
FOOTBALL
UCalgary Stadium will serve as the training and competition home for Dinos Football. The Dinos are currently the only elite football program in Canada without an on-campus facility — a gap this stadium is designed to close.
SOCCER
Men’s and women’s soccer have a long-standing athletic tradition at UCalgary. UCalgary Stadium will offer year-round turf for training and competition.
RUGBY
Dinos Women’s Rugby has been played at UCalgary since 2009. A new stadium provides an ideal environment for training and hosting visiting teams during competition.
UCALGARY STUDENTS
We are all Dinos. UCalgary Stadium will also create opportunities for sport and recreation for the university’s 38,000 students, supporting wellness, connection and campus life.
Home for community sport
UCalgary Stadium will be a welcoming space for the broader community — filled with the vibrant energy of people of all ages and abilities. Centrally located on main campus, the stadium will be easily accessible for families across Calgary and will support grassroots sport development that helps children and young athletes — including future Dinos — stay active, engaged and inspired.
From the outset, this stadium has been envisioned as a home for varsity and community athletics. With a seasonal dome, UCalgary Stadium becomes a year-round facility that helps grow sport across Calgary."

Building together
Philanthropy will play a vital role in bringing UCalgary Stadium to life. Early fundraising commitments — championed by the Dinos Football 5th Quarter Alumni Society and other committed community members — have helped establish a strong foundation for the project, enabling the university to move forward with procurement for prime architectural consulting services to assess feasibility, timelines and costing. Interest continues to grow, and we welcome alumni, partners and supporters to join us in bringing this vision to life.
