Effects of Recreation Reopening on Physical Activity and Social Outcomes in Older Adults

This study examined aimed to understand older adults’ experience of recreational facilities reopening following the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants completed monthly surveys focused on physical activity and social outcomes over a 6-month period. Qualitative interviews where participants shared their experiences related to the reopening of physical recreational facilities were conducted in the second phase of the study.

This study was funded by the Brawn Family Foundation. We would like to thank the City of Calgary for their in-kind assistance throughout this project.
