Gut Microbiome and Newborns
Maternal microbial transmission and the exposure to environment shape the gut microbiome assembly of newborns. The sequence and composition of early colonizers has been suggested as a significant factor contributing to the high individuality in the assembly of gut microbiota. Wang's research aims to explore the possibilities of educating microbial communities in newborns by supply probiotic or / and prebiotic therapies during pregnancy and lactation.
