Support Kinesiology's Fundraising Efforts for United Way
The Faculty of Kinesiology United Way Campaign has fun new ways in progress to donate to this great cause, including a Wellness Bingo, Wine Cellar and Chocolate Stash. You can also recognize and celebrate colleagues with a Givin' Thanks star.
Wellness Bingo for Month of November
The bingo card costs $10 with all proceeds going to the United Way. Fill in your bingo card through the month and when it is complete, you can enter your name into the draw, by Nov. 30, for a lovely wellness prize basket (value $500) filled with items from Community Natural Foods, Monat (skin products), Active Living free fitness training, Sport Medicine Centre massage and nutrition session, and more!
Who: Graduate students, postdocs, faculty and staff
What: Cross off all of the items on the Wellness Bingo card, snap a photo and send via email to kerry.dankers@ucalgary.ca to be entered into the draw.
When: You can buy-in anytime in November with a deadline of completing and entering your name by Nov. 30. Winner draw is on Dec. 1.
Where: Buy into the United Way Wellness Bingo HERE. Sign in with your UCalgary IT account credentials, click the donate button and donate $10 (enter $10 in “other amount", the green box will read $10 - press it.). You will receive the Wellness Bingo card to your inbox in roughly 24hrs. Then get started!
The Wine Cellar!
Here is a chance to stock up on your wine collection for the upcoming season. There are new rules for this year: no teams and no weekly eliminations.
Who: Graduate students, postdocs, faculty and staff (18 years and older)
Donation: The donation date is now closed, but soon participants will be able to buy tickets.
Purchase Tickets: The week of November 29 each participant who donated a bottle of wine will receive a link (called Rafflebox) to the Kinesiology/United Way Wine Cellar. At the Wine Cellar raffle page, you will have the option to purchase one, three or six tickets to enter into the wine raffle (1 for $20, 3 for $40, 6 for $60). The draw closes at 11 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, 2021.
Monday, Dec. 6, The Draw!
- First ticket drawn survives with 20% of the wine
- Second ticket drawn survives with 30% of the wine
- Third ticket drawn survives as the winner with 50% of the wine
The Chocolate Stash!
This event is similar to the “Wine Cellar” but with another favourite food group: chocolate, for those who prefer chocolate to wine.
Who is eligible to participate: Graduate students, postdocs, faculty and staff
Chocolate Donation: Donations are now closed but participants will soon be able to purchase draw tickets.

The draw closes at 11 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, 2021.
